Sorry It took so long

So we have been home now with our little boy for almost 10 months and have had the most amazing time watching him grow. He has had his first birthday, Christmas, New years, visit to the Bronx Zoo, and trips to see all the new family members he now has. He has such a curious and comical personality that has developed since we have met him. He has learned so much from crawling, talking, walking, and now he is trying to take up running. Not going as well as he would like. The way he throws his toys we should have a tryout for the Yankees in no time, Daddy hopes. We are enjoying every moment with him and can't wait for his next discovery.

So this is our last post we will be able to do in country, our internet service is being shut off. Janine is feeling better this morning and is feeding Christopher his first bottle of the day. Christopher is his jolly self but still a little tired. We are going to start to pack :) to leave this region and begin our trip home. We are hoping the flights go well and are uneventful and we will be home next Sunday in the afternoon. I am still deciding on what my first real meal will be, whatever it is it will be the best food we will have had in over 7 weeks. We will put up a post after we get home with a bunch of pics of Christopher in his new home and wiith his new family. Thank you everyone for following us this far, it has been a great outlet for us to be able to use. We will see you all very soon.

CHRISTOPHER SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT BUT MOMMY AND DADDY DIDN'T

So Christopher got through the entire night but mommy got sick at about 2am, and almost every hour after that which in turn kept daddy running to the bathroom with mommy. She has been down for the count all day today eating juice and crackers. To all of you skeptics Daddy was in charge all day and has done a fine job of keeping his son fed, rested and out of poopie diapers. He is doing some play time is his crib to give me a chance to finally eat at 3pm. His cold is still there and we think he is teething again. We have medicine for both and hope to get over it by the time we leave for home which goes the same for mommy. We are taking the stroller home to make life easier during our lay over in Amsterdam, and we should be able to heat all of his bottles on the plane with there help of the flight attendants.

OUT HAVING A DRINK

So we got out today for some lunch and Christopher was great. He slept through the walk and most of our pizza. When he woke up he played in the stroller we bought. We fed him, changed him then went shopping. We all needed to stretch our legs and get out of the house. So yesterday we went on our last ride out to Shchuchinsk (where the baby house is) to sign for his birth certificate. It is finally official we had it in hand for about 1 minute then had to give it over to our lawyer to go to the capital to get there passport and visa. Christopher Aidyn Rocillo can officially start to say daddy, oh yea and mommy. We are so glad that we never have to make that long trip out there again. We will begin to pack on Monday to leave here to go to Almaty. From there it is only four days then HOME! We will only be able to keep posting until this Monday then the internet gets turned off. So don't get worried or angry that we have not been keeping up. So here are some pic's of Christopher with his bottle and the big store we go to called the Tzum store.

I have mastered the art of rolling!

After weeks of trying to teach Christopher to roll onto his tummy from is back, today he roll across over half of the living room in the cottage. He was so excited that he was able to move around that he just kept rolling and rolling. He now rolls to get a toy if he wants it. He has such a look of satisfaction on his face when he gets the toy! Very cute. He learns something new everyday and the great part is we were able to experience it with him. We are exhausted but having a blast with him. His smiles and giggles make everything worth it. He seems to wake up once during the night which is not bad. Today we invited Dr. Natalia over to see the kids. She is the doctor that delivered them here in the Kokshetau maternity hospital. She could not believe the differance. She said when he was in the hospital he screamed a lot and now he is all smiles and giggles. She said when they would feed him he would scream at the top of his lungs. They also used to joke and say he liked to sleep on his stomach so he didn't have to see the doctors. He apparently did not like them. She is a wonderful person and it was great to spend some time with her and know what Christopher was like when he was just born. She looked at the schedules that the baby house gave us and said they are not being fed nearly enough and that they look thin. We told her that we had already increased the formula and food dramatically and she seemed happy about that. She also recommended more food at the 8P.M. feeding that Christopher gets. We started that tonight and he ate it all. These are the pics of todays adventures. All that rolling tuckered him out and he is now sound asleep ZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Our first day as full time parents

Our first day went very well considering Christophers' schedule was completely off. He ate very well for us and as you can imagine we fed him more than the baby house usually does and he ate it all with no problem. He loved his peas. He will be chubby in no time! His bottle is still his favorite. His last bottle is at 11:30 and then bedtime. He slept untill 6:15 A.M. with only waking one time at 2:00 A.M. He was back to sleep in about 20 minutes. We did not sleep as well as Christopher! A bit nervous our first night. We kept checking on him. He ate his cereal for the first time without his bottle at the same time. Usually at the babyhouse we had to hold his bottle close by and give it to him while getting the next spoon of cereal ready. He liked the cereal we have because it has apple in it. He liked his bath except for washing his hair. He did not like the water being poured on his head to rinse the shampoo. He smelled sooo good after his bath! Gotcha Day!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes that is right we got him. The baby house director surprised all of us at the end of our visit today by releasing our son. We were in disbelief and questioned the caregivers, his doctor and then the director to confirm it. We officially had to wait until this Saturday so this was amazing news. It has not even hit us yet I think but it is so great to have him here with us. We got to feed him lunch, take him to our translator's mother's Cafe, and put him down for a nap. Next we try his first bath to make him smell like a baby finally. We can not be more happy that this day has finally come. We are now full time parents not just visitors. He slept in my arms most of the ride home and I could not stop looking at him. When he did wake up we just stared at each other for a while and then he looked around a bit. So this is our ride home from the hospital, WELCOME HOME SON!
