Our Story

Hi everyone! We are starting this blog to record the adventures of our adoption. We have been waiting a long time to say that! This is a very exciting time for us and hope that you all have a great time following along.

Here is a little about us. Our names are Chris and Janine and we've known each other since childhood. We began dating about seven years ago and have been married for four years now. We are currently the proud parents of a Golden Retriever named Vegas and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Skittles.

We have been wanting a little one of our own for almost 3 years now. It has been a long and difficult road but the ends will justify the means. Finding out we couldn't have children of our own was devastating to us. After 2 failed In-Vitro attempts and serious soul searching we knew that our family would not be complete without a child. This is when we decided on adoption.
After a lot of research, mountains of paperwork, FBI clearances and fingerprinting, trips to the notary, county clerk, and Manhattan to have things state authenticated and last but not least a Fed Ex bill that would make anyone cringe, our Dossier was finally off to Kazakhstan! Then the waiting began! We then made use of all of our free time (not having to do paperwork) and started the babies room which is now complete and waiting for our little one! Yeah!

We currently have accepted a referral of a child and are waiting anxiously for our travel dates so we can go meet our little one. Hopefully our next post will say we are leaving!
